Online Learning

Another topic that many people ask me about often is which websites I frequent to keep learning.  There are so many great sites out there.  However, I have a few that I check often.

The first place I go to when I want to learn or have my work critiqued is Open Source Photo Forum.  It is an amazing community of photographers who are willing to share their knowledge and experience.  I am there reading and contributing daily.  You can search any topic that your heart desires, and the people are so amazing.  We even have OSP get togethers all over the globe.

Another amazing forum is Digital Wedding Forum (DWF).  Again...an amazing place for learning anything you want to know about photography.

If you are looking for information about lighting and flash photography, check out The Strobist

Happy learning!

Workshops

I have had several people ask me about workshops and classes I have attended.  I try to attend 2 - 3 workshops a year.  I have heard many amazing people speak over the past few years.  This past Monday, I attended the Master Your Craft workshop with Mike Colon and Bob Davis.  It was one of the most insightful and technically in depth workshops I have attended.  The workshop is designed to get back to the foundation of good photography pushing the attendees to take a look at their shooting and challenge them to shoot better images in camera.  I would recommend this workshop to those just starting in photography as well as those who have been shooting for years.  If you are new to the industry, it will give you a solid foundation to many crucial facets of photography.  If you have been shooting for years, you will be challenged to push further and make sure you are shooting to the best of your abilities.

Another great learning opportunity is Texas School of Professional Photography.  It is a week full of great information and networking.  One instructor in particular I recommend is Tony Corbell.  He is a master of lighting and will help you understand light like never before.

If you would like further information, please feel free to contact me!
